The katek GmbH from Grassau has certified its quality management system for medical devices according to the demanding standard DIN EN ISO 13485. The company Kathrein-group can thus expand the field of medical technology and develop new markets.

After a successful audit TÜV Süd has confirmed the electronics manufacturer that the requirements of the international process-oriented standard EN ISO 13485 are met. This includes industry-specific requirements for the production of medical devices. "The certification shows that we meet all important requirements for the production of electronic assemblies, systems and devices for the medical industry needs," says Claudia Miller, Head of Quality Management at Katek. "We are an innovative high-tech company and underline with this certificate our expertise in the medical industry. For our medical customers the certification means first of all safety", Miller continued.
